What is the Eastern Economic Corridor?

The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is Thailand's flagship economic development program, established under the EEC Act of 2018. It covers three eastern provinces — Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong — and aims to transform the region into a leading ASEAN economic zone.

The EEC offers a comprehensive package of incentives to attract both domestic and foreign investment in 12 targeted industries. These include tax holidays, streamlined permits, special visa programs, and world-class infrastructure including high-speed rail, airports, and deep-sea ports.

Managed by the EEC Office under the Prime Minister's Office, the corridor builds on Thailand's existing industrial strengths while driving innovation in next-generation industries such as robotics, digital technology, and biotechnology.
